In a tragic turn of events that unfolded on an April evening in 2020, a young man's life was cut short by gunfire on a Savannah street. On the evening of April 16th, officers from the Savannah Police Department were dispatched to the 2600 block of Pate Street following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered the body of 26-year-old Brandon Smith of Guyton, Georgia. Smith had sustained fatal injuries from gunfire and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
