Lephillip Shantavious Wright, a 34-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on August 22, 2020, in Statesboro, Georgia. Wright, originally from East Dublin, Georgia, was fatally injured in a shooting incident that occurred in the parking lot of a bar and grill on Lanier Drive. The incident took place around 1:45 a.m., when officers from the Statesboro and Georgia Southern University police departments responded to reports of gunfire.
