Hiawatha Adams, a 41-year-old African American woman, tragically passed away on August 30, 2020, in Augusta, Georgia. Her death was the result of a murder-suicide incident involving her boyfriend, 44-year-old Dekia Ruffin. The couple was found deceased in the rear bedroom of their home on Umbrella Circle in Martinez, a suburb of Augusta. According to police reports, Ruffin shot Adams before turning the gun on himself.
