In the late hours of a warm September evening in Savannah, Georgia, the life of 20-year-old Matthew Hayes was tragically cut short. On September 8, 2020, in the 2400 block of Harden Street, the sound of gunshots pierced the night, and when police arrived around 2:10 a.m., they found Hayes suffering from gunshot wounds.
