Jamari Gerome Edward Batts, a 15-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on December 4, 2014, in Savannah, Georgia. The incident occurred in front of a residential building at Madison Apartments on West 54th Street. Jamari was handling a gun with Naivareal Raheem Smith, a 20-year-old male, when the weapon discharged, resulting in a fatal head injury to Jamari. He was immediately taken to Memorial University Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.
