In the quiet town of Cedartown, Georgia, the life of 40-year-old Kevin Quillian, a white male, was brought to a sudden and tragic end on the afternoon of Friday, October 9, 2020. A graduate of the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy, Quillian was known for his love of hiking.
On that fateful day, events unfolded at a residence located at 201 LaVista Avenue, leading to a fatal encounter.
An altercation between Kevin Quillian and his father, Dillard Quillian, escalated to a point where a single gunshot was fired. The bullet struck Kevin in the upper part of his leg. Despite his injury, he managed to flee towards a nearby Holiday Inn Express in an attempt to find help, but tragically succumbed to the wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Cedartown Police Department quickly identified the shooter as Dillard Quillian, who remained at the scene and was reported to be cooperating with the authorities. He was subsequently arrested and taken to the Polk County Jail, where he was charged with felony aggravated assault. Dillard Quillian was later released on a $10,100 bond.
