On a Sunday afternoon in mid-November, the usual rhythm of the Florence-Firestone community on the edge of Los Angeles was broken by gunfire. In the 6300 block of Holmes Avenue, a 35-year-old man named Erik Mora was shot, another name destined to be added to the growing roll of victims of gun violence.
