In the late hours of a Friday in Hephzibah, Georgia, a violent encounter led to the tragic death of 54-year-old Dennis Adams. On November 6, 2020, on the 2400 block of Highway 88, a shooting occurred that would end Adams' life. Emergency services were called to the scene and transported him to Augusta University Medical Center, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead at 7:08 p.m.
The investigation into the shooting quickly pointed to a suspect. The following day, the Richmond County Sheriff's Office arrested 57-year-old Reginald Todd Wright, a resident of Hephzibah who lived on the same highway where the shooting took place.
Wright was taken into custody and subsequently charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a crime. While an arrest has been made, the motive behind the fatal shooting has not been publicly released. The case against Reginald Todd Wright is proceeding through the legal system.
