In the early morning hours of April 9, 2021, a call to the Greene County 911 Center reported a seemingly routine tractor-trailer accident along Interstate 20. However, when deputies arrived at mile marker 132 in Greensboro, Georgia, they discovered a far more grim reality. Inside the cab of the truck was 30-year-old Joseph Lee Briggs, Jr. of Manning, South Carolina, who was not the victim of a mere traffic collision, but of a violent crime.
