Joshua Serenity Hollis, a 24-year-old Black transgender woman, was tragically shot and killed in Albany, Georgia, on May 8, 2021. Serenity, as she was known, was walking down a street early in the morning when she was approached from behind and shot once in the back. The assailant then fled the scene.
