In the late hours of May 31, 2021, tragedy struck in Columbus, Georgia, when 17-year-old Carson Scott Skinner was fatally shot. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of Bismark Drive, where Columbus police officers responded to a call just before midnight. Upon their arrival, they discovered Skinner outside a residence with a gunshot wound.
