In the early hours of a Friday morning in downtown Savannah, Georgia, a dispute between two men escalated into a fatal encounter. On June 11, 2021, 30-year-old Maurice Griffin was shot in a parking lot near the Hotel Indigo on W. Bay Lane. The incident, which police believe was not a random act, occurred around 3:15 a.m. following a verbal altercation that turned violent.
