Adan Bautista-Lopez, a 30-year-old Hispanic male, was shot and killed on October 10, 2021, in Forest Park, Georgia. The incident occurred shortly before 6 p.m. in the 4800 block of Mitchell Street. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Bautista-Lopez suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. First responders attempted to provide medical aid, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators quickly identified 21-year-old Gilberto Eugene Teran Sr. as the suspect in the shooting. It was reported that Bautista-Lopez and Teran knew each other, although a specific motive for the killing was not immediately released by authorities. Following the incident, Teran fled the scene on foot, prompting a search by law enforcement. He was considered armed and dangerous.
A warrant was issued for Teran's arrest on a charge of malice murder. The search for him extended beyond Georgia, and on October 20, 2021, he was apprehended in College Station, Texas. Following his arrest, Teran was awaiting extradition back to Georgia to face the murder charge.
