Patrece Lashelle Alston, a 19-year-old from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, went missing on June 23, 1998, after being seen entering a green Mazda with Lucious Boyd, a man later convicted of murder and suspected in numerous disappearances. Patrece, known by the nickname "Trece," had dropped out of high school and was living with her sister, helping to care for her sister's children. She was described as an outgoing and vivacious young woman who occasionally socialized with Boyd, though they were not romantically involved. The two reportedly planned a day trip to Winter Haven, about 200 miles away, and Alston had not packed any belongings for an extended stay. Boyd returned days later, but Patrece was never seen again.
Boyd, a known violent offender, provided conflicting accounts about what had happened to Patrece during their trip. He claimed she met two men and left with them, but witnesses later denied having seen her after the trip. Despite Boyd's denials, police remain convinced he knows the whereabouts of her body. Boyd’s criminal history, which includes multiple charges of violent crime and rape, paints a grim picture. He was eventually convicted for the murder of another woman, Dawnia Dacosta, later in 1998 and sentenced to death. Authorities suspect Boyd may be linked to as many as ten unsolved murders and disappearances, including Patrece’s case.
