In the winter of 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the afternoon quiet of an Atlanta neighborhood, leaving a young man's life cut tragically short. On December 15th, police were called to a single-family home in the 400 block of Thaxton Drive, where they found 22-year-old Nakeem Smith suffering from a gunshot wound. The male victim was urgently transported to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
