On a mild evening in Brunswick, Georgia, the day after Christmas in 2021, the life of 18-year-old Amondrick Tijuane Roberts was tragically cut short. Roberts, a male, was at Selden Park where a large cookout with approximately 100 people was taking place. A festive atmosphere turned violent when a fight broke out among some of the attendees.
According to reports from the Glynn County Police Department, Roberts was in the act of defending a family member involved in the altercation when
gunshots rang out. He was struck by the gunfire and, despite being rushed to a local hospital, succumbed to his injuries. Another individual was also injured during the incident but survived. Witnesses at the scene reported that several people were recording the fight on their cell phones, yet a wall of silence seemed to meet the initial police investigation.
In the weeks and months that followed, the investigation into Roberts' death continued, but no arrests were made. The Glynn County Police Department issued public appeals for information, urging anyone with photos or videos from the event to come forward. A $5,000 reward was offered for any information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the homicide. Friends and family of Roberts, who was described as a hardworking father of two and an aspiring musician known as SBN Money, mourned their loss and pleaded for justice.
