In the early morning hours of December 31, 2021, a family dispute in a Stone Mountain, Georgia home escalated to a tragic and fatal conclusion, claiming the life of 28-year-old Westley Hill. The male victim was found by police on the living room floor of a residence in the 4700 block of Lost Colony Court, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The events of that morning began with a seemingly trivial argument between Westley and his older brother, Quentin Hill, who was 31 at the time.
The disagreement was over a fan. Their mother, who was present in the house, witnessed Quentin grab a gun. She attempted to de-escalate the situation, telling him that the argument was not that serious. In response, Quentin put the gun down and went outside. However, he returned to the house shortly after, and the sound of gunshots filled the air, followed by Westley's screams. He had been shot twice.
Following the shooting, Quentin Hill fled the scene in his mother's car. For a period, his whereabouts were unknown to authorities. On February 5, 2022, the vehicle he had used to escape was spotted back at the house. When questioned, his mother stated that Quentin had left the car elsewhere and that she had been the one driving it. She claimed not to know his location. However, at his mother's urging, Quentin Hill turned himself in to law enforcement on March 29, 2022.
In June 2024, a DeKalb County jury convicted Quentin Hill on charges of Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony for the death of his younger brother, Westley. Sentencing for Quentin Hill was scheduled to take place in the weeks following his conviction.
