Anthony Hopgood, a 30-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on January 24, 2022, in East Point, a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. The incident occurred just before 5 p.m. in front of a Piggly Wiggly supermarket on Washington Road. Hopgood was found with multiple gunshot wounds, and despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The police recovered several .45 ACP and 9mm spent shell casings from the parking lot, indicating a violent confrontation.
