In the winter of 2022, the life of 44-year-old Tammy Sherrell Calhoun was tragically cut short in a Macon, Georgia hotel room. On the afternoon of February 9th, deputies from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the OYO Hotel on Romeiser Drive after a report of two deceased individuals. Inside one of the rooms, they discovered the bodies of Ms. Calhoun and a man identified as 43-year-old Michael Ray Reid Jr. of Merced, California.
Both had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
Investigators at the scene immediately began to piece together the events that led to the grim discovery. The Bibb County Coroner's Office was called in, and the initial assessment pointed towards a murder-suicide. Authorities reported that it appeared Reid shot and killed Calhoun before turning the gun on himself.
