In the early hours of March 30, 2022, a dispute that began inside a bar in a Lilburn, Georgia strip mall tragically escalated, spilling out into the parking lot and ending the life of 40-year-old Enrique Razo. A Hispanic male from Lawrenceville, Razo was a father of two and just weeks shy of his 41st birthday. He was described by those who knew him as a laid-back and kind-hearted individual with no known enemies, making the sudden violence that ended his life all the more shocking to his family and friends.
The altercation, which had started inside a bar on Indian Trail Road, moved to the parking lot where it turned deadly. Enrique Razo was shot multiple times and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. His body was later discovered by his brother, David Razo, near some bushes, an area cordoned off by yellow crime scene tape as police investigators began their work. The Gwinnett County Police Department launched an immediate and thorough investigation into the homicide.
Within a couple of days, the investigation led to the identification and arrest of two suspects: 19-year-old Manuel Sablon of Winder and 19-year-old Christian Garcia-Garcia of Lilburn. Both teenagers were taken into custody by April 1, 2022. Investigators believe that both Sablon and Garcia-Garcia confronted Enrique Razo in the parking lot and that both fired shots at him during the fatal encounter.
Both Manuel Sablon and Christian Garcia-Garcia were charged with felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Following their arrests, they were held at the Gwinnett County jail without bond. The legal proceedings against the two accused teenagers are ongoing as the community awaits justice for the senseless act of violence that claimed the life of Enrique Razo. His death left his family and friends devastated, with his brother expressing not only profound sorrow but also fear for his own safety in the aftermath of the tragedy.
