In a tragic turn of events on May 29, 2022, 19-year-old Luis Daniel Veronica Jr., a Hispanic male from Stone Mountain, Georgia, lost his life in a fatal shooting. The incident unfolded at the LaCota Apartments on Peachtree Industrial Boulevard in Dunwoody, a suburban area of Atlanta. Responding to a call about a shooting, police discovered a scene of immense sorrow.
Inside a vehicle at the apartment complex, officers found Luis Daniel Veronica Jr.
and his younger brother, 17-year-old Brian Veronica. Both had been shot to death. The initial stages of the investigation into the double homicide quickly led to a breakthrough. Authorities arrested 17-year-old Alexis Hernandez, who was subsequently charged with two counts of murder in connection with the deaths of the Veronica brothers.
The investigation did not conclude with the first arrest. Law enforcement continued to pursue leads, leading to the apprehension of two more teenage suspects.
