In the quiet community of Waycross, Georgia, the life of 73-year-old Virginia Carter Thomas came to a tragic and unexpected end in July of 2022. On the morning of July 11th, a relative made a harrowing discovery, finding Virginia and her long-term partner, 75-year-old Charles Barnett, deceased in their home on South Lakeview Drive. The couple, who neighbors described as deeply in love and kind-hearted, had been shot to death while they lay in their bed.
