Virginia Carter Thomas, a 73-year-old white female, was found dead on July 11, 2022, at her residence in Waycross, Georgia. She was discovered alongside her husband, Charles Barnett, a 75-year-old white male. Both victims had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was called in to assist with the investigation, which revealed that the couple had been shot while lying in their bed.
