Jaybrie Hampton, a 15-year-old African American male from Valdosta, GA, tragically lost his life on September 18, 2022. The incident occurred around 10:34 a.m. when Valdosta Police Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1300 block of Ponderosa Drive. Upon arrival, officers found Jaybrie with gunshot wounds. Despite their efforts to provide first aid until Emergency Medical Services arrived, Jaybrie succumbed to his injuries at South Georgia Medical Center.
