In the late hours of a Saturday in Baltimore, the night was shattered by gunfire that claimed the lives of two people. On June 22, 2013, just before midnight, 20-year-old Gervontae Burgess, an African-American male, was seated in a car on the 1400 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. Accompanying him was 49-year-old Joyce Allston.
