Justin Rock Powell, a 16-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on December 17, 2022, in a shooting incident in southwest Atlanta. The incident occurred at the Retreat at Greenbriar Apartments, where Justin and his best friend, 14-year-old Malik Grover, were among the victims of a violent shootout. The shooting, which took place around 5 p.m., resulted in the deaths of both Justin and Malik, while three other children, aged 11 and 15, were injured and required hospitalization.
