Amos Cross, a 39-year-old police officer from Pensacola, Florida, tragically lost his life on September 12, 1980. Officer Cross was responding to a domestic disturbance call at a residence on North D Street when he was fatally shot in the face with a shotgun by a 19-year-old suspect as he approached the door.
