Deputy Sheriff James Arthur Bevis of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office in Florida was tragically killed on April 4, 1985, while performing his duties. On that fateful evening, Bevis attempted to arrest two suspects, Edward Cotton and Morris Lavon Brown, who had just robbed a convenience store in Malone, Florida.
