Derick Garrett, a 49-year-old African American man from Marianna, Florida, tragically lost his life on November 15, 2020. The incident occurred at his residence on Calhoun Road, where he was found unresponsive after being shot. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call around 11:19 a.m. from a woman who identified the shooter as her brother, Trevor Garrett, who is also Derick Garrett's son.
