On June 5, 1989, Erin Smith, an eight-year-old girl from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, tragically lost her life in an accidental shooting. The incident occurred when Erin and her ten-year-old brother, Sean, returned home from school. While searching for video game cartridges in their father's dresser, Sean discovered a .38-caliber revolver.
