Joseph Preston Martin, a 28-year-old police officer from North Miami Beach, FL, tragically lost his life on April 27, 1990. Officer Martin, who was serving with the Metro-Dade Police Department, was conducting a routine traffic stop at the intersection of NE 13th Avenue and NE 151st Street when he encountered a stolen vehicle occupied by three men involved in a series of burglaries and robberies.
