Doretta Drake, a 30-year-old African American woman, was tragically killed on June 17, 1990, in Jacksonville, Florida. Her death was part of a horrific spree of violence perpetrated by James Edward Pough, a 42-year-old man with a violent criminal history. Pough's rampage began on June 17, when he shot and killed Doretta Drake, who was identified as a prostitute, and her alleged pimp, Louis Carl Bacon, near his home.
