Brian Michael Birden, 21, a Black man, was killed in Baltimore, Maryland, on October 31, 2013, when gunfire tore through a quiet stretch of Kennedy Avenue in the early afternoon. Just after 1 p.m., police rushed to the 2000 block near 22nd Street and found two people down with multiple gunshot wounds.
