Zachary 'Zack' James Bellar, a five-month-old infant, tragically lost his life on May 3, 2009, in Lakeland, Florida. The incident was part of a horrific murder-suicide carried out by his father, Troy Ryan Bellar. On that fateful night, Troy Bellar shot and killed his wife, Wendy Bellar, and their two sons, Zack and seven-year-old Ryan Patrick Bellar, before taking his own life. The couple's 13-year-old son, Nathan, managed to escape the violence and survived the ordeal.
