On January 27, 2011, 16-year-old Calyx Powers Schenecker, a Caucasian female, was found dead in her home in Tampa, Florida. Calyx, along with her 13-year-old brother Beau, was tragically murdered by their mother, Julie Powers Schenecker. The bodies of Calyx and Beau were discovered by police after Julie's mother expressed concern over not being able to reach her daughter.
