Andre Lamar Folsom, aged 36, was tragically shot to death on May 26, 2014, in the parking lot of a Walmart in Greenacres, Florida. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. shortly after Folsom had exited the store with a group of people. He was found with gunshot wounds in the parking lot, and despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The Greenacres Police Department immediately launched an investigation into the homicide, seeking the public's assistance in identifying six persons of interest who were seen in the vicinity at the time of the shooting.
The investigation revealed that Folsom's death was not a random act of violence but rather a targeted killing linked to gang activities. Kevin Wiltshire, a member of the Yonkers-based street gang "Cruddy 650," was identified as the shooter. Wiltshire, along with other gang members, had traveled from New York to Florida, bringing their violent activities with them. On the night of the murder, a dispute erupted in the Walmart parking lot, culminating in Wiltshire shooting Folsom in the head.
Federal authorities took over the case due to its connection with broader gang-related crimes. Kevin Wiltshire was subsequently arrested and charged with Folsom's murder, among other racketeering crimes. In April 2017, Wiltshire pled guilty to participating in the Cruddy 650 racketeering conspiracy, using and carrying firearms during the conspiracy, and using a firearm to murder Folsom. He was sentenced to over 30 years in prison for his crimes. The case highlighted the extensive reach and violent nature of the Cruddy 650 gang, which was involved in multiple shootings, drug distribution, and robberies both in New York and Florida.
