Marc Celian, a 34-year-old male, was fatally shot on February 17, 2025, in Greenacres, Florida. Authorities discovered Celian in the driver's seat of a white Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck on the 5000 block of Arbor Glen Circle, near Haverhill Road and Le Chalet Boulevard. Surveillance footage captured a man approaching Celian’s vehicle on foot and firing multiple shots before leaving the scene.
Witnesses reported seeing an armed individual walking to a neighboring residence immediately after the shooting.
Investigators identified the suspect as Emmanuel Athouriste, a 38-year-old male who lived next door to Celian. Athouriste’s estranged wife informed authorities that she had moved out of their home in January due to concerns about her husband's increasingly erratic behavior. She described his actions as "extremely weird" and noted that he had exhibited signs of mental instability since October of the previous year. She also stated that Athouriste had repeatedly accused her of having extramarital affairs, including with Celian.
Following the shooting, Athouriste was located in Miami and taken into custody by the Aventura Police Department. He was later booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on February 20, 2025, and charged with first-degree murder. During a court hearing on February 21, a judge assigned him a public defender and ordered that he be held without bail. Athouriste now faces the possibility of the death penalty.
