Earlon Eugley, a 77-year-old white male, was found dead in the backyard of his home on NE 26th Avenue in Okeechobee, Florida, on January 30, 2016. His death was immediately deemed suspicious by the Okeechobee County Sheriff's Office. Eugley, who was originally from Waldoboro, Maine, had been living in Okeechobee for only a few months each year, as he was known to be a "snowbird" who spent part of the year in Florida.
