Earl Jack May Sr., an 89-year-old white male, passed away on April 16, 2016, in Lecanto, FL. His death was the result of a tragic incident involving his son, James Troy May. According to reports, the incident occurred early in the morning at their home on West Starlight Path. James, a 52-year-old white male, claimed that his father had become violent towards him throughout the previous day. The situation escalated, leading James to retrieve a gun and shoot his father. After the shooting, James allegedly fell asleep and did not contact authorities until he woke up later. When deputies arrived at the scene, they found Earl Jack May Sr. deceased. James Troy May was subsequently arrested and charged with second-degree murder. The investigation into the incident remained ongoing at the time.
