On March 9, 2017, Trevon Taylor, a 30-year-old resident of DeLand, Florida, was tragically shot and killed in the Spring Hill area of the city. The incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. on West Walts Avenue, just feet away from Taylor's family home. The community was left in shock as Taylor's body was discovered lying in the street between Parsons and South Clara Avenue.
