On April 12, 2017, Brandon Bryant, a 27-year-old resident of Sanford, Florida, was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 11:07 p.m. on Historic Goldsboro Boulevard. Upon arrival, Sanford Police found Bryant with gunshot wounds and he was immediately transported to Central Florida Regional Hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, Bryant succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after.
The investigation into Bryant's death led to the identification and arrest of
two suspects. Trev’eon Deshaun Neal was apprehended on April 14, 2017, just two days after the shooting. Neal was charged with his involvement in the murder of Brandon Bryant. Subsequently, on April 18, 2017, Dwayne Brown was also arrested in connection with the case. Brown faced charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and felony murder.
The legal proceedings that followed saw significant developments. Trev’eon Neal-Eudell, who was 18 at the time, received a 15-year prison sentence on other charges related to the case. Dwayne Brown, initially believed to have been the shooter, was released after serving time in jail for a year and a half. The case against Brown was complicated by shifting testimonies, which ultimately influenced the court's decision.
