Aqkil David Brooks, an 18-year-old Black male, was tragically killed on May 1, 2017, in Tampa, Florida. The incident occurred at 8212 Trammell Trail, where Aqkil and another associate were shot while inside a vehicle. Aqkil succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office classified the case as a homicide and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
