Roderick Ray McCoy, a 24-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on July 21, 2017, in Gainesville, Florida. The incident occurred at the Reflections Apartments, located a few miles west of the University of Florida campus. According to the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, deputies received a call around 2 a.m. reporting shots fired at the apartment complex.
