Verl Harmon, a 27-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on September 25, 2017, in Gainesville, Florida. The incident occurred at the Sunset Apartments, located at 1515 NW 12th Street. Police responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting in the early hours of the morning. Upon arrival, officers found Verl Harmon with apparent gunshot wounds in the courtyard of the apartment complex. Despite efforts to render emergency aid, Harmon was pronounced dead at the scene.
