Jay Thames Jr., age 57, was found murdered on June 8, 2003, at his residence located at 1115 SW 3rd Avenue in Gainesville, Florida. His body was discovered at approximately 6:52 pm, and the cause of death was determined to be a beating. Thames lived in a quad apartment building, but despite being in a residential area, no witnesses came forward with information that could lead to an arrest.
