Jarvaris Marquese Platts, a 19-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life in the early hours of Thanksgiving, November 23, 2017. The incident occurred outside the Vibe nightclub on Philips Highway in Jacksonville, Florida. According to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, officers responded to the scene shortly after 1 a.m. and found Platts suffering from a gunshot wound.
