Alvin Ducre, a 55-year-old African American man from Palmetto, Florida, tragically lost his life on February 4, 2018. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. in the 1100 block of 33rd Street East in Palmetto. Deputies responding to the scene discovered that Alvin Ducre had been fatally shot, while a 39-year-old woman, Amy Smith, was also shot but survived her injuries. The shooting was not considered a random act, indicating that the perpetrator may have had a specific motive or target in mind.
