On March 2, 2018, Jenny was critically injured in a shooting that also claimed the lives of her mother, 54-year-old Sylvie Louis, and the perpetrator, 22-year-old Javonte Carter. The incident occurred in the 2900 block of Hiawatha Avenue, in an unincorporated area of Palm Beach County.
Jenny succumbed to her injuries more than a week later, on March 11, 2018.
The sequence of events began when Javonte Carter, who had a prior relationship with Jenny, fatally shot her mother, Sylvie Louis, outside their home. Carter then entered the residence and shot Jenny. Authorities later discovered Carter's body near Jenny's; he had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
