Winchester, along with Kelijah Watson, who was 17, attempted to rob Abel, leading to the tragic shooting. Winchester was later convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 50 years in prison, with a mandatory minimum of 25 years before he is eligible for parole. Watson, who took a plea deal, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for his role in the robbery.
