Dean Hyatt, a 20-year-old male from Margate, Florida, was tragically shot and killed on August 4, 2018, in the parking lot of the Caravel Arms Apartments in Lauderdale Lakes. The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m., when authorities received a call about an unresponsive man. Upon arrival, Broward Sheriff's Office deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue found Dean Hyatt with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
