On March 29, 1901, Georgie Woodman was tragically killed in Davisville, California. The incident was a result of a violent confrontation involving her husband, John A. Woodman. John, who had been suspicious of an affair between Georgie and a man named Jones, had previously threatened to kill Jones if he did not stay away from his wife. Despite these threats, Jones continued to consort with Georgie, leading to a fatal encounter just across Putah Creek in Solano County.
